Men's Soccer Falls to MSU in OT, 1-0

Hillside, N.J. (10/10/12) – Sophomore Joe Borrajo netted the game-winner in overtime as the Montclair State University men's soccer team edged Kean University, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon in NJAC action.

Montclair State, currently ranked 8th in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) and D3soccer.com national polls, improves to 13-1 this season and 6-1 in conference action.  With the loss, Kean falls to 7-7 overall with a 3-3 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

In what proved to be a physical matchup with 26 combined fouls and seven cards, ninety minutes was not enough to decide a winner.  Borrajo scored 7:37 into overtime off a scrum in front of the net, on an initial corner serve from sophomore Maxx Wurzburger

The Red Hawks held a slight edge in shots (17-14) and corner opportunities (8-6).

Senior John Londono tallied five saves for Kean while senior Anthony Rogic recorded six for MSU.

The Cougars, who played down a man for 51 minutes of the contest, return to action on Saturday when they host The College of New Jersey at Kean Alumni Stadium, beginning at 4:30 p.m.  Montclair State hosts New Jersey City University on Saturday at 6 p.m.
