Riverdale, N.Y. (10/17/12) – The Kean
University men's soccer team blanked #19 New York University
by the final of 2-0, Wednesday evening in non-conference
action.
Senior Kharee Winslow scored what would be the
game-winner early in the first half as launched a free kick that
bounced off a wall of defenders into the goal. The Cougars
(9-7) then added insurance late in the matchup as sophomore
Erickson Simeon used a through ball from rookie
Jose Arevalo to put the score at the final of
2-0.
NYU (10-3-1) had their opportunities as they outshot Kean, 14-7
and led 5-1 in corner kick opportunities.
Junior Tyler Callahan (pictured left) made four
stops for the Cougars in the shutout win.
Kean returns to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to
Rowan University.
