Madison, N.J. (10/2/12) – Junior Stephanie Soares scored the game's lone match in the first five minutes of action as the Kean University field hockey team edged host FDU-Florham, 1-0, Tuesday evening.

Soares (pictured left) scored the game-winner on a scrum in front of the goal at the 5:10 mark. 

FDU-Florham (6-5) held an 8-3 advantage in shots and a 7-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Kean's (5-7) Katie DiCarlo recorded three saves in the shutout win.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they travel to Vassar College for a 1 p.m. start.
