Wayne, N.J. (12/12/12) – The William
Paterson University Pioneers used a strong first half to push past
the Kean University women's basketball team by the final of
73-46.
Junior guard Floriana Borova scored 23 of her game-high
27 points during the first half as the William Paterson
women's basketball team improved to 6-3. Freshman
Jatirah Diggs led Kean (1-7) with 14 points in the
loss.
The Pioneers blew the game open with a 22-6 first-half run,
turning a 16-11 lead at the 14:43 mark into a 38-17 margin with
7:47 on the clock. William Paterson headed into the break
with a 49-27 advantage.
Sophomore AnnaRose Pierre had 12 tallies while
freshman Sharell Lowe pulled down a game-high 12
rebounds.
Kean will face the University of Scranton on Saturday
evening.
