San Diego, Calif. (3/19/12) – Union College used a strong second half to defeat the Kean University men's lacrosse team during their west coast swing by the final of 12-7, Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

With the loss Kean falls to 6-2 this season while #11 Union improves to 3-1.

The teams battled to a three-all tie through the first two quarters of action as sophomore Richard Cheifitz recorded two of the three Cougar goals.  But it was Union who stormed out of the break, scoring five straight goals in the third quarter to push away from Kean. 

Cheifitz led all players with four goals while adding an assist.  Junior Sean Bobal added two goals and sophomore Mike Sheehan tallied two assists.

The Cougars return to action on Thursday when they take on Babson College at Whittier College at noon local time.
