New York, N.Y. (4/1/12) – The Kean University men's volleyball team picked up two wins in their final Skyline Conference regular season matches by defeating both New Jersey City University and Yeshiva University in straight sets Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars finish their conference slate with a 13-1 record and in turn earned the top spot in the upcoming Skyline Conference Tournament slated for Saturday, April 14th at Kean University.
In the first matchup of the day the #14 Cougars topped New Jersey City, 25-19, 25-23, 27-26. Junior Steve Vahalla recorded 15 kills with a .345 hitting percentage while adding six digs. Freshman Kyle Farley registered seven kills and three blocks.
In the second match of the day, Kean topped host Yeshiva, 25-14, 25-18, 25-19. It was Vahalla (pictured left) leading the way again with 14 kills and 10 digs while teammate Ed Jedziniak tallied six kills, seven digs and four combined blocks.
Kean has their final home regular season match on Tuesday when they host Rutgers-Newark for senior night.
