Troy, N.Y. (4/11/12) – The Kean
University women's lacrosse team picked up their first
shutout since 2009 on their way to topping host Sage College, 16-0,
Wednesday night in Skyline action.
The Cougars improve to 5-1 in Skyline play and 8-4 overall this
season while the Gators fall to 1-9 overall and 0-4 in conference
action.
Kean paced the entire matchup scoring 10 goals in the first half
on their way to cruising to the win. The Cougars were led by
junior Lyndsey Cannon (pictured left) who recorded
five goals and three assists while also adding four draw controls,
three groundballs and two caused turnovers. Junior
Stephanie Tocko tallied three goals and two
assists with two groundballs and two caused turnovers. Keeper
Jules Keeley recorded five saves in just over 47
minutes of action.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they host
Farmingdale State College at 1 p.m.
