Union, N.J. (9/1/12) – Sophomore Shelby Pedersen scored the game's lone goal late in the first half as the Kean University women's soccer team picked up their second straight win of the 2012 season by defeating Shenandoah University, 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
Pederson (pictured left) converted a breakaway opportunity in the 42nd minute for her second goal in as many days.
In the tight matchup, Shenandoah (1-1) held a 4-1 advantage in corner opportunities while the Cougars (2-0) edged the Hornets in shots, 11-9.
Rookies KC Nunez and Samantha Blair split time in net, as Blair posted five saves in the second half.
Kean returns to action on Wednesday when they host FDU-Florham at 7:30 p.m.
