Union, N.J. (9/12/12) – Senior
Carly Seidel pushed across the lone goal of the
contest as the Kean University women's soccer team edged the
University of Scranton by the final of 1-0 Wednesday evening in
non-conference action.
Seidel (pictured left) scored the match's only goal just
under seven minutes into the contest off a pass from senior
Jaclyn Janicky. Kean then controlled the
rest of the first half, not allowing Scranton to get off a
shot.
The tide changed in the final 45 minutes as the Royals paced the
second half, controlling the ball for a majority of the time, as
they outshot Kean, 10-2. The Cougar defense was still able to
keep them off the board and hold on for the win.
Rookie KC Nunez tallied two saves.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, September
19th when they open up NJAC play against Rutgers-Newark
at home, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
