Mahwah, N.J. (9/25/12) – Ramapo College
netted the game-winner in overtime to top the Kean University field
hockey team, 2-1, Tuesday afternoon in NJAC action.
The Cougars fall to 4-6 this season and 0-2 in the New Jersey
Athletic Conference. Ramapo is now 2-3 and 1-1 in conference
play. The loss is the fourth overtime defeat for Kean this
season.
The Roadrunners got on the board first, taking advantage of a
penalty corner situation in the ninth minute. Kean tied
things up just before the end of the first half on a penalty corner
of their own as freshman Marissa Robinson
(pictured left) took the pass from Claire
Keenan.
The score would remain that way until five minutes into overtime
as Ramapo was able to convert a save rebound into the
game-winner.
Kean outshot the Roadrunners 27-6 and held a 23-4 advantage in
penalty corners.
