Hillside, N.J. (9/26/12) – The Kean
University men's soccer team used two second-half goals that
held up as they defeated New Jersey City University, 2-1, Wednesday
afternoon in NJAC action.
Sophomore Erickson Simeon had a hand in both goals
as he assisted the first and recorded the game-winner as Kean
improves to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the New Jersey Athletic
Conference.
Senior Kharee Winslow notched the game's
first goal at the 66 minute mark as he crossed a ball from the
center of the box. Simeon made it 2-0 using a long ball from
the back that slipped by everyone
for open net goal. New Jersey City (6-4, 1-2 NJAC) pulled
within one in the 80th minute, but the Cougars were able
to hold on down the stretch for the win.
Junior keeper Tyler Callahan recorded one save
in the win while the Gothic Knight's Sheldon
Parkinson registered six in the loss.
Kean returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Ramapo
College.
