Mahwah, N.J. (9/29/12) – Rookie Luis Velasquez netted two goals as the Kean University men's soccer team shutout host Ramapo College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.
Junior keeper Tyler Callahan recorded six saves in the shutout win as Kean improved to 7-4 this season, and 3-2 in conference play. The Roadrunners fall to 5-5 overall and 2-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Velasquez (pictured left) scored what would be the game-winner in the first half as he scored off an assist from senior Kharee Winslow at the 34 minute mark. He tacked on his second goal of the day early in the second half and freshman Jacob Krygowski rounded out the scoring at the 87 minute mark off an assist from senior Michael Custidiano.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, October 6th when they travel to Methodist University for a noon start.
