Dallas, Pa. (9/8/12) – Junior
Stephanie Soares scored what would be the
game-winner as the Kean University field hockey team edged host
Misericordia University, 2-1, Saturday afternoon.
The win pushed Kean back over .500 as they improve to 3-2.
Junior Korri Thompson got things started with
the game's first goal in the 14th minute off a
pass from junior Julie Knodt. Soares
(pictured left) provided the game-winner at 53:05 as she gave Kean
a 2-0 lead.
The Cougars held an 18-6 advantage in penalty corners with a
slight 12-10 edge in shots.
Kean returns to action on Wednesday when they open NJAC play at
William Paterson University at 7 p.m.
