Women's Soccer Edges Ramapo, 1-0

Union, N.J. (10/29/14) – Rookies Mallory Noordeloos and Kelly Williamson connected on the only goal of the night to give the Kean University women's soccer team a 1-0 shutout win over Ramapo College.

The contest, the last of the regular season, puts the Cougars at 10-5-2 and 4-4-1 in the NJAC.  The loss drops the Roadrunners to 5-10-2 and 2-7 in conference play.

The NJAC Tournament picture is now set as Kean is tabbed as the fifth seed by virtue of the goal differential tie-breaker with Rutgers-Newark.  The Cougars will head to #4 Rowan University on Saturday, November 1st for the quarterfinals.

The lone goal of the match came off the foot of Noordeloos (pictured left) in the 59th minute as she served the ball directly from center off a corner volley from Williamson.  The goal is the first of her collegiate career.

The Cougars next best scoring opportunity came in the 72nd minute as Jordyn Bronsky lined a high shot from 20 yards out, but rookie Jessica Cusick was there for the leaping grab.

Keepers KC Nunez and Lauren Healey split time in goal this evening as Nunez stopped three shots and Healey with one.  Cusick finished the night with two saves.

The Cougars also thanked their senior class of Sam Marchetti, Carly Snyder and Shelby Pedersen prior to tonight's matchup.
