COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (9/6/14) – The Kean University men's soccer team allowed just one goal to Colorado College on Saturday in the Rocky Mountain State, but it was enough for the Tigers to slip by Kean by a score of 1-0. The match was delayed for hours by a thunderstorm in the 67th minute.
Kean fell to 1-2-1 on the year, and the Tigers are now 3-1.
Kean goalkeeper Brad Watkins did well in the game as he faced a barrage of 23 shots. In the first half he kept the Cougars in it, denying all 10 to keep the game tied without Kean being able to get off a shot.
Things evened out a bit in the second, as the Cougars combined for seven shots, including two on goal by Robert Barrera (pictured left) and Steven Zamudio.
But it was Brandon Ogilvie's goal with 36 minutes remaining that proved to be the difference in the match. After receiving a pass from Trevor Houghton, he found the net from nine yards out for the game's only strike.
Kean will remain on the Colorado College campus for one more game. The Cougars will take on George Fox University on Sunday before returning home.
