Galloway, N.J (1/17/15) – The Kean University men's basketball team was led by junior Tommy Soulias with a game-high 18 points but fell to #11 Richard Stockton College, 74-53.
The Ospreys led from start to finish improving to 14-2 this season with an 8-1 conference mark. The Cougars fall to 3-12, 1-8 in the NJAC.
Stockton jumped out quickly in the first half, stretching their lead to as many as 13 points on two occasions. Marcus Harmon and Anthony Woodard scored six points each in the first 20 minutes. The Ospreys used 42.3% (11-26) shooting to forge a 29-21 halftime advantage.
The second stanza produced more of the same results as the Cougars could not get any closer than seven points before Stockton paced to the end margin, 74-53.
Armin Cane scored 16 points while Josh Blamon added 15 for the Ospreys. In addition to his 18 points, Soulias tallied a game-high seven rebounds while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Junior Mike Diamond (pictured left) chipped in with 10 points and senior Tim Steward provided eight points and six rebounds.
Kean takes on the College of Staten Island in their final non-conference game of the season on Monday at noon.
