Make It a 10-Game Win Streak for Men's Soccer

UNION, N.J. (10/5/15) – The Kean University men's soccer team topped Baruch College 4-1 on Monday night to run its record to 12-1 on the season. Sev Kherlopian scored twice and Carmine Colasurdo and Joe Koetters also found paydirt for the Cougars.

Kean won its 10th-consecutive game and Khelopian netted his fourth-straight game-winner for the Cougars. It was the sophomore's NCAA-leading seventh game-winning goal of the season.

Kherlopian scored both first-half goals for the Cougars. Less than 10 minutes in, he got a one-touch pass from Vaughn Cusano from the right side. Kherlopian made a juke move to beat a Bearcat defender and fired it in with his right foot for the score.

With 10 minutes to go in the first, an excellent long pass from Kevin Olaya sprung Kherlopian in behind the entire Baruch back line. Kherlopian deked the goaltender and finished the ball in the side netting for his 15th goal of the year.

The damage would have been far worse if not for the terrific play of Baruch goaltender Xavier Carrillo. In the first half he dove to thwart a Kean penalty kick, then had another save on a point-blank shot 10 minutes later. He put a stop to at least two more first-half scoring opportunities to keep his side in the game.

In the second half, both Alex Noriega and Olaya assisted on Colasurdo's header goal at 50:28 to give Kean a three-goal cushion.

With less than five miutes remaining, Bryan Blandon set up Koetters after a broken play for the fourth and final goal of the Cougar evening.

Oshae Miller scored for Baruch, whose record is now 5-4 this year.

Freshman Chidi Iloka earned the win for Kean with four saves and is now 9-0 on the year.

The Cougars – one of two clubs with perfect NJAC records - will return to league play on Saturday against William Paterson University at 6 p.m. in Wayne.
