Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Foiled by Florham

UNION, N.J. (3/13/15) – The Kean University men's lacrosse team was tied with Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham midway through the third quarter, but the Devils rallied to score six of the final seven goals of the game to win 9-4 on Friday night.

The Cougar goals came from four different players: Anthony Carpenter, Anthony Perrotta, Matt Brodley and Mike Criscitello. It was Carpenter's goal at 7:21 of the third quarter that tied the game at three after Kean had trailed 3-1 in the second period and 3-2 at halftime.

Carpenter (pictured left) and Perrotta also had assists for the Cougars in the game.

Most statistical categories were relatively even; both teams had eight saves, faceoffs were 8-7 Kean and shots were 29-23 Florham. But the Devil defense provided the difference, forcing 13 Cougar turnovers and allowing just one man-up goal on nine Kean opportunities, including a three-minute non-releasable penalty.

Daniel Minnich led FDU with a natural hat trick, encompassing the game-winning and go-ahead goals. Jake Higgins added two more tallies for the visitors, who earned their first victory of the year and are 1-3. Kean is now 3-2.

Ed Adams won 2-of-3 faceoffs, while Criscitello led the team with four groundballs and six faceoff wins. Carpenter, Zach Dellecave and Brian Mills all forced one turnover each.

Kean will hit the road this spring break and play two neutral-site matchups. First, Kean will play Skidmore College in Virginia Beach on Wednesday and then take on SUNY Potsdam on Saturday in Cortland, New York.
