UNION, N.J. (4/25/15) – Three Cougars had hat tricks as the Kean University men's lacrosse team overwhelmed Mount Saint Mary College 21-6 while the program celebrated Senior Day.
Matt Brodley, Jeff Christiano and Anthony Perrotta all scored three times for Kean, and seniors Dave Hobson, Jamar Thigpen and Mike Criscitello were honored in a pregame ceremony. Criscitello led Kean with 13 ground balls and won 14 of the 17 faceoffs he took on his senior day.
The Cougars have advanced to the Skyline Conference Playoffs, will they will look to avenge a regular season loss to Stockton University on Wednesday in the Skyline Semifinals.
Goaltender Maxwell Fields made 11 saves on 17 opportunities to earn his ninth win of the season. Kean nearly doubled the Knights' shot total in the game, 44-26 and won 22-of-29 faceoffs.
Anthony Carpenter tied Christiano and Perrotta for the team lead with five points, as he paced the team with three assists to go with his two goals.
Hobson (pictured left) scored with 1:36 remaining in his senior day, and Thigpen went 7-for-10 on faceoffs and scooped up two ground balls in his final collegiate home game.
Kean will tangle with the Ospreys on Wednesday on the road in Pomona. Gametime will be at 7p.m.
