Pitman, N.J. (1/13/16) – Freshman Marajiah Bacon earns New Jersey Athletic Conference and ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week honors.
Bacon earns her sixth NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after averaging 24.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.0 spg and 2.5 apg in two games last week. She drained 19 points along with three steals, three assists and a blocked shot in a setback to William Paterson. She followed up with her third career 30+ point game to help the Cougars give first-place Rowan a run in a 103-97 loss. She added four boards, three steals, two assists and a block against the Profs.
On the week, Bacon added an impressive 18-for-20 showing at the free throw line. She is currently the top scorer in the NJAC with 22.8 ppg and also ranks sixth in both assists (3.7) and steals (2.8). At this time, she is also second in the nation in points per game.
