GLASSBORO, N.J. (10/1/16) – The Kean University men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback at undefeated No. 6 Rowan University on Saturday. The loss makes the Cougars 9-3 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC.
The Profs improved to 10-0-1 and 3-0-1 in the league with the victory.
Rowan scored off a first-half free kick by Brian Dzobiak. Kean was outshot 13-6 in the first period.
In the second half, Jake Conners earned his second assist of the game at 62:30 when he set up Travis Ward for a goal. Ward then assisted Shane Doherty for a late goal with just a minute left in the game to make the final score less indicative of how close of a match it was.
Kyle Dennis earned the shutout in goal for Rowan. Bryce Horn made six saves for the Cougars.
Jelani Williams and Robert Barrera (pictured left) both generated multiple shots for Kean.
The Cougars will return to action on Wednesday with a home match against Swarthmore College at 8 p.m.
