Kean outshot the Bloodhounds 25-0 in the first half and had a 5-0 lead by the break. Jordyn Bronsky started the party less than two minutes into the game. Taylor Hueston threaded her a good, long pass to spring Bronsky behind the John Jay defense.
20 minutes later, Lexy Monroy one-timed a touch from Allison Coca into the cage for a 2-0 lead. Five minutes later it was Hueston scoring with an assist from Emily Jurcsek, and five minutes after that Jurcsek picked off a pass and put it in the cage. It was the first goal of the season for all three players – the first collegiate goals ever for freshmen Hueston and Monroy.
Brittany Morales capped the Kean scoring in the first half when she put away another rebound at 35:31 for a 5-0 Kean cushion.
Soon after play started in the second half, Kendall Machak got in on the scoring with an assist from Sabrina Pascarella. Both Machak (pictured left) and Pascarella earned assists on the Cougars' next goal, which came off the foot of Kaitlyn Pallitto at 51:17.
Kean's final tally came at 76:01 on a top-notch pass from Emily Moore to Cori Dengel behind every Bloodhound defender for the eighth goal of the evening.
John Jay did manage one shot in the final seconds of the game, making the final shot count 36-1 on the night.
