Men's Volleyball Breezes By Yeshiva

NEW YORK, N.Y. (2/17/16) – The Kean University men's volleyball team surrendered just 28 points over three sets in a Skyline Conference sweep of Yeshiva University on Wednesday. The Cougars hit .466 in the match and held YU to six kills and six errors – a percentage of .000.

Connor Evans led Kean with 12 kills. Steve Schrank quarterbacked the team with 22 assists and added eight digs. Zach Lynne led the Cougars with nine digs in the match.

Itai Guttman led the Maccabees with three kills. Yeshiva is now 1-7 and 1-3 in the Skyline.

Kean improved to 8-5 and 2-0 in the conference with the victory. Other highlights included six kills each from Bill Fischer and Nico Mercadante, and the perfect 1.00 (3-for-3) hitting percentage by Shayron Taylor in the match. Taylor, Kamil Garbowski and Nicholas Buseski (pictured left) all had solo blocks on Wednesday night.

The Cougars will continue Skyline action on Saturday with a tri-match against The Sage Colleges and host St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn ) beginning at 11 a.m.
