UNION, N.J. (3/18/16) – In its first match after returning to the national Top-15 rankings, the No. 12 Kean University men's volleyball team demolished Baruch College in straight-sets on Friday night.

In the opening set, Baruch cut what had been a five-point lead to three at 16-13, forcing Kean to call timeout. Though the Bearcats did get to within two, it was never closer than that and Kean won going away 25-21 in the first. The Cougars outhit BC .355 to .147 and won 80 percent of the first set's sideout opportunities.
Kean quickly went up 7-1 to start the second set, and the Cougars hung on for the 25-16 set victory. Connor Evans led Kean in kills in both of the first two sets of the night; he got five in the first and four in the second.
Up 21-15 in the third, Jacob Kauffman ripped off three-straight aces to get to set point and Evans, Bill Fischer and Shayron Taylor all teamed up for the final block that gave the Cougars the victory. Kean had seven blocks in the final set alone and 13.5 total over the three sets.
The Cougar defense held Baruch to a .012 hitting percentage overall on Friday night. Nick Breslin had six digs while Steve Schrank added five to go with 32 assists. Kean hit .403 in the match.
Tommy Rosario led Kean with 13.5 points, including a .909 attack percentage (10-11 with no errors). The Cougars are now 21-6 on the year. Baruch sinks to 12-10.
Kean will remain home on Sunday for a Skyline Conference tri-match against Ramapo College and Yeshiva University beginning at 11 a.m.
