Women's Lacrosse Powers Past SUNY Canton

Bradenton, Fla. (3/8/16) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team used a high scoring offense to power to a 14-2 win over SUNY Canton in the Spring Fling Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Morgan Graham led all players with four goals in addition to two assists as she helped Kean improve to 2-0 on the young season.

The Cougars trailed for only a short time as the Roos (0-1) were first out of the gate with a goal just over two minutes into the contest.  Kean quickly tied things up a minute later as Graham found the back of the net and she gave the Cougars the lead for good seven minutes later.

Kean then paced their scoring and headed into the break with a 7-2 lead.

It was all Kean in the second half as the Cougars shut down SUNY Canton and went on to score seven more goals in the 14-2 victory.

Emily Stasuk (pictured left), Brittany Ballack and Sam Gnapp all had hat tricks while senior Jordan Blanda added five draw controls as well as an assist.

Keeper Nikki Apostolopoulos recorded six saves for her second win.

The Cougars have one more game in the Spring Fling when they take on Green Mountain College on Thursday.
