The Cougars were led by senior Jordan Blanda with five goals on what turned out to be a bright, sunny spring afternoon.
The Roadrunners (6-7, 0-3 NJAC) were the first to tally a goal as Emma Bolton netted a free-position tally two minutes into the action. Kean quickly tied the game up on an unassisted marker from freshman Meghan Tillger and took the lead for good 20 seconds later on a goal from Emily Stasuk, who was feed from senior Sam Gnapp.
The Cougars then paced their offense over the next 25 minutes and pushed the lead out to 8-1 with four goals from Blanda in the surge. Ramapo added their second goal of the day, again by Bolton, to make the score 8-2 at the break.
Kean pushed their lead to as much as 13 late in the second half as Brittany Ballack found the back of the net streaking in front of the goal (16-3). Ramapo closed out the game with two quick goals, including one as time expired for the final.
For the Cougars, Ballack (pictured left) collected four goals and two assists. Sophomore Giulia Vitolo caused four turnovers and scooped up four groundballs while keeper Nikki Apostolopoulos recorded nine saves and caused two turnovers.
Kean returns to NJAC action on Saturday as part of a four game home stand. The Cougars will face Stockton University on senior day beginning at 1 p.m.
