ALBANY, N.Y. (4/2/16) –The No. 11 Kean University men's volleyball team topped the Sage Colleges and St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn in two sweeps on Saturday to cap off the program's third-straight perfect Skyline season.
The Cougars clinched previously clinched the Skyline regular season title and will be the top seed in next week's Skyline Championship Tournament.
On Saturday, the Cougars outhit their opponents .482-.062. Jacob Kauffman (19), Tommy Rosario (12) Jared Warner and Nicholas Buseski (pictured left) (10 each) all reached double-digit kills for Kean. Rosario earned a double-double as he was in on a team-best 11 blocks as well. Kauffman added six aces and accounted for 27 points.
Nick Breslin and Steve Schrank had seven digs each to lead the team, and Schrank dished out 45 assists in four sets. Chadd Jones was perfect, hitting 1.000 on the afternoon.
Kean outblocked the Gators and Bears 16-1 over the two matches. The team ends the regular season with a 28-6 record and 14-0 in the Skyline.
The Cougars will host the Skyline Conference Semifinal round on Friday night at 7 p.m. inside Harwood Arena. Kean as the one-seed has a bye in the first round, where their opponent will be determined.
