Union, N.J. (9/10/16) – The Kean University field hockey team remained perfect in 2016 with a 1-0 decision over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2-1) on Saturday afternoon.
On a hot and steamy day, the Cougars (1-0) were able to scratch across a goal in the 57th minute as the LaMaina sisters combined for the game's only score. Krista LaMaina started the penalty corner opportunity and pushed it to the top of the circle where Shauna LaMaina fired a liner through the keepers legs for what would be the game-winner.
Kean held the advantage in shots and corners on the afternoon.
The Cougars return to action just over 24 hours from now when they take on Utica College at 5 p.m.
