Purchase, N.Y. (9/14/16) – The Kean University women's soccer team endured a lightning delay and rain but was able to push past Manhattanville College by the final of 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
With the win the Cougars even their season record to 3-3 while the loss drops Manhattanville to 1-3 on the year.
The game's only marker came towards the end of the first half as Cori Dengel (pictured left) crossed her pass into the box that Sabrina Pascarella finished inside the left post.
With just over 18 minutes to go in regulation a storm rolled through causing a one hour and 13 minute delay due to lightning.
Despite the score, Kean dominated in most categories with a 21-2 advantage in shots and 9-1 in corner kicks.
Valiant keeper Dolores Diemicke posted 12 saves while Lauren Healey stopped both shots she faced.
Kean opens up NJAC play on Saturday when they travel to Stockton University.
