Galloway, N.J. (9/17/16) – The Kean University women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Stockton University in the NJAC opener for both on Saturday afternoon.
Kean now falls to 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in the NJAC while Stockton improves to 6-1 on the year and 1-0 in conference play.
The Ospreys used a balanced scoring attacked, registering two goals in the first half, one midway and the other in the final minute before the break.
Stockton added another seven minutes into the second half before Kean got on the board in the 65th minute. Senior Kayla Birth recorded her first goal of the season as she floated a ball from midfield that found the back of the net.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday when they host the College of Staten Island at 7:30 p.m.
