Jersey City, N.J. (10/11/17) – The Kean University men's soccer team posted a 3-0 shutout of New Jersey City University this afternoon in New Jersey Athletic Conference action.
The Cougars (7-5-1, 2-4-0 NJAC) offensive surge came in the second half as Nicholas Sica headed ball played from the top of the box served from Alex Noriega.
An own goal put Kean ahead 2-0 ten minutes later and the Cougars sealed the win as rookie Vinceroy Nelson worked a two-on-one breakaway and used the left side to take a feed from Michael Vargas for what would be the final.
Keeper Derek Phells registered four saves in the shutout win.
Kean returns home and will face Rutgers-Camden this Saturday at 1 p.m.
