Union, N.J. (9/16/17) – Freshman Kesi Alejandro redirected the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Kean University women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Stockton University in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both.
Scoreless through the first 90 minutes of action, the Cougars broke through just under five minutes into overtime as they took advantage of their sixth corner opportunity of the afternoon. Alejandro redirected a shot from Kaitlyn Pallitto that found the right corner to give the Cougars their first NJAC win of the season.
Kean dominated in opportunities with 24 shots (compared to 10).
Casey McDonnell made five stops in the shutout win while Nicole Pallante had nine in the loss.
Kean returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to the College of Staten Island for a non-conference matchup.
