Union, N.J. (3/27/18) – St. Joseph's College – Long Island used a complete game pitching performance from Nick Mannarino to push past the Kean University baseball team by the final of 7-2 on Tuesday.
Mannarino (1-0) allowed nine hits and one earned run. He walked no one and struck out three.
Trailing 1-0 the Cougars (8-12) took their only lead of the day in their first at-bat. Kean started off the day with three straight hits off the bats of Frank LoGiudice, John Carello and Nick Polizzano. An errant throw pushed one run across and a sacrifice fly from Matt Krupa put Kean up 2-1.
The lead was short lived as the Golden Eagles (7-7) added three more in the second inning. St. Joseph's added insurance late with a single run in the seventh and two more in the eighth, highlighted by a two RBI double off the bat of Lou Doria.
The Cougars received two hits from LoGiudice and Pollizano.
Kean returns to action on Wendesday when they host Farmingdale State College.
