#7 TCNJ Tops Women's Soccer

Union, N.J. (10/12/19) – Seventh ranked The College of New Jersey topped the Kean University women's soccer team by the final of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.

Despite controlling most of the day's offense, the Lions (11-1, 5-0 NJAC) only led 1-0 at the break.  That goal, what would be the game-winner, came in the seventh minute as Juliana Bertolino took a pass from Faith Eichenour in the center of the field and fired it home.

TCNJ then used a balanced scoring attack in the second half to add cushion and secure their ninth shutout of the season.  The Lions have allowed just four goals all season, and their defense today showed why, as Kean (5-7-1, 1-3-1 NJAC) wasn't able to get off a shot, despite controlling the ball on the Lions' half of the field.

Kean's Marissa Cook stopped eight of the 12 shots on goal (29 overall shots).  TCNJ also had nine corner kick opportunities.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Ramapo College for an afternoon matchup.
