Mahwah, N.J. (10/16/19) – The Kean University women's soccer team used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a 4-1 victory over Ramapo College in NJAC action on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Mariaelena Torres collected two goals in the win as Kean improved to 6-7-1 this fall and 2-3-1 in conference play. The loss drops Ramapo to 4-7-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the NJAC.
Senior Deana Abdou got things going with a goal fed from fellow senior Lauren Jurcsek in the 39th minute.
The Cougars then recorded three second half goals, each about 10 minutes a part to add insurance. Senior Lexy Monroy made it 2-0 with a penalty kick goal. Torres added two goals to close out the scoring for the Cougars. The Roadrunners broke up the shutout with just four seconds left in the contest.
Kean returns to action on Saturday when they host William Paterson University on Senior Day.
