Glassboro, N.J. (10/12/19) – The Kean University football team suffered a 52-7 loss at Rowan University on Saturday afternoon in conference action.
The loss drops the Cougars to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC. The win is the first for the Profs this fall as they stand with a 1-4 record and 1-1 mark in the conference.
Kean erased the shutout late in the second quarter using a hurry up offense and all pass plays. With second and six from the Rowan 13 yard line, Anthony Broccoletti found Kyle Rooney in the front corner of the endzone for the touchdown strike. Ryan Devaney added the extra point for the 28-7 halftime score.
On the day the Rowan defense forced four turnovers while registering five sacks.
For the Cougars, Dietrich Trumbauer collected eight tackles with one and a half for a loss.
Kean remains on the road for their next contest as they face The College of New Jersey next Saturday in NJAC action.
