Cougars Sweep Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (10/17/19) Zoe Strozewski totaled a match-high 16 kills with a .583 hitting percentage and six blocks  as the Kean University women's volleyball team swept Rutgers-Camden in straight sets, 3-0 on Thursday evening.

Brianna Calvano finished with 24 assists, nine digs and four kills for the Cougars who improve to 18-7 overall and 6-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Jamie Mulligan tallied nine kills and four digs for the Scarlet Raptors who fall to 11-11 overall and 1-5 in the NJAC.

Kean easily handled Camden in the first two sets after hitting above .300. In the final set, the Cougars needed a boost from Strozewski to sweep the match. The Cougars trailed 22-20 on back-to-back kills by Morgan Mulligan forcing Kean to call a timeout. After the timeout, the Cougars closed out the match on a 5-0 run that included three kills and a block assist from the All-American middle hitter.

Kean hit .270 for the match, including 60 digs and 11 blocks. Sedona Gaard totaled seven kills and six digs, while Liz Hadly tallied six kills. Kortnee Nelson (15) and Amanda DeLio (10) combined for 25 digs.
