Newark, N.J. (10/26/19) – The Kean University women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss in overtime at Rutgers-Newark in NJAC action on Saturday evening.
With limited offensive chances for both teams, it was the Scarlet Raiders (10-7-2, 2-4-2 NJAC) who broke through first in the 82 minute as Shayna Bohus crossed the ball in from the right side to Sabria Glasgow who flicked to Hope Davis at the top of the box and finished it into the top left corner.
With time expiring, Lauren Jurcsek went down the left flank and sent a low cross to Lexy Monroy who centered it and hit it into the low left corner to send the match into overtime.
Early in the extra period, Rutgers-Newark's Jessica Moreno lofted a corner kick that made it past the Kean defense and bounced off of the head of Glasgow for the game-winner.
The Cougars close out the regular season on Wednesday when they host Montclair State University.
