GLENSIDE, Pa. (11/16/19) – Felipe Lucas scored two, while
Danny Guillen assisted on two as the Kean University men's soccer team advanced to the ECAC Quarterfinals with a 5-0 shutout of Hunter College on Saturday.
Lucas,
Nick Kovach,
Thomas Skrelja and
Bryan Blandon all tallied goals for the Cougars who improve to 10-7-3 overall and will face host Arcadia University with a spot in the semifinals on the line on Sunday.
Noah Dougherty made 11 saves for the Hawks who finish their season at 8-8-2 overall.
Lucas notched both goals in the opening stanza as Kean held a 2-0 advantage at halftime. The sophomore tallied his first goal on a free kick in the 8
th minute and scored on a through ball from Guillen in the 19
th minute.
Guillen added another assist in the second half when he connected with Kovach for the score in the 73
rd minute. Skrelja posted his first collegiate goal with a score in the 85
th minute, while Blandon tallied a free kick goal in the 87
th minute.
Kean outshot Hunter, 24-7, including 16-5 on frame. Lucas,
Max Acosta,
Sam Griffis all tallied three shots apiece, while
Alex Nicol,
Bend Alexandre, Blandon and Skrelja all recorded two shots apiece.
Dillion Konzelmann made five saves in nearly 80 minutes of work.
