HILLSIDE, N.J. (9/11/19) – Seven different Cougars notched a goal as the Kean University men's soccer team recorded a 7-3 rout of Hunter College at the East Campus Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Calvin Carbajal collected two assists for the Cougars who improve to 4-2 overall.
Regis Enama tallied a goal and an assist for the Cougars who fall to 1-3-1 overall.
Kean scored four goals in the first half, including a goal from just inside the midfield line from
Christian Estremera in the 35
th minute. Prior to Estremera's impressive goal, Carbajal connected with
Matthew Almeida for the opening goal of the afternoon and
Max Acosta ripped a screamer from just outside the 18 yard box.
Patryk Kowal capped off the Kean scoring in the opening stanza with a goal in the 38
th minute. The Cougars took a commanding 4-1 lead into halftime.
The second half saw the Cougars score another three unanswered, including a goal and assist from
Bryan Calle, along with a second assist from Carbajal. Kean increased their lead to 7-1 in the 69
th minute.
The Cougars dominated on shots (22-7) and corners (10-1).
Sam Griffis and
Nick Kovach both led the team with four shots apiece, while
Dylan Evande, Almeida, Acosta and Kowal each recorded two apiece.
