UNION, N.J. (9/13/19) – Jesse Larkin totaled 19 kills and a .447 hitting percentage over two matches as the Kean University women's volleyball team captured both matches on the opening day of the Kean Invitational.
Kean 3, Moravian 0
Cailyn Ross totaled a season-high 11 kills and posted a .333 hitting percentage as the Cougars (6-3) swept the Greyhounds (3-6) in straight sets. Ross dominated the first two sets with nine kills on 14 swings and just one attack error.
Larkin totaled five kills, while both
Sedona Gaard and
Zoe Strozewski tallied four kills apiece. Kean hit .215 for the match, while Moravian recorded a -.030 hitting percentage.
Brianna Calvano collected 14 assists and five digs, while
Kortnee Nelson totaled 18 digs.
Kean 3, Lycoming 1
Larkin and Strozewski combined for 31 kills, while Nelson tallied a career-high 27 digs as the Cougars (7-3) rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to sweep the Warriors (6-4) in the final three sets. Larkin didn't commit an error all night after totaling 14 kills and a .538 hitting percentage. Strozewski was unstoppable in the middle as the All-American totaled 12 kills over the first two sets, including seven in the second set alone.
Calvano finished with 45 assists, 10 digs, three blocks and four kills.
