WENHAM, Mass. (9/20/19) – Zoe Strozewski totaled 11 kills, six block assists and a .917 hitting percentage as the Kean University women's volleyball team swept Gordon College, 3-0 in straight sets on Friday evening.
Brianna Calvano tallied 35 assists, eight digs, four block assists and three kills for the Cougars who improve to 9-5 overall.
Jamie Tafoya finished with seven kills for the Scots who fall to 6-6 overall.
Kean coasted in the opening set, jumping out to a 4-0 lead before extending it to 18-9. Gordon raced back and cut the lead to 21-19, before Kean closed the set with four straight points. The middle set saw both sides stay within two points of each other before
Sedona Gaard tallied three kills to put Kean in front for good at 20-16. The final set had the Cougars trailing 18-16, before
Michelle Froehlich served for four straight points, including two aces to propel Kean back in front at 21-18. The Scots would make things interesting late, but kills by
Jesse Larkin and Strozewski sealed the match.
The Cougars hit .253 for the match with 10 aces and eight blocks.
Kayla Thornton totaled nine kills and two blocks, while Larkin tallied eight kills.
Kortnee Nelson collected 13 digs, while
Amanda DeLio posted nine.

Don Perkins and the Cougars will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 21st, in Babson Park, Mass. against Clark University at 1:00 p.m. and Babson College at 3:00 p.m.
