ONEONTA, N.Y. (9/21/19) – Melissa Way notched a hat-trick as the Kean University field hockey team extended their winning streak to eight games with a 7-1 victory over SUNY Oneonta on Saturday afternoon.
Peyton Mann totaled two goals for the Cougars who improve to 8-1 overall.
Alise Anson scored a goal for the Red Dragons who fall to 3-4 overall.
The Cougars scored four goals in the first half, including scores by
Ja'Carra Jackson,
Jenna Patrone, Mann and Way. After surrendering their first goal in the last three games, Kean held a 4-1 lead at intermission. The Cougars responded with three unanswered in the second half, including two from Way and a second goal from Mann.
Kean outshot Oneonta (24-8), including 17-7 on goal, while being even on penalty corners (7-7). Way recorded a game-high seven shots, while Jackson and Patrone tallied three shots apiece.
Belly Reynoso made three saves in 45 minutes of work and improves to 8-1 in goal.
