UNION, N.J. (9/24/19) – Melissa Way notched five points on two goals and one assist as the No. 20 Kean University field hockey team extended their winning streak to nine games with an 11-0 shutout of Centenary University on Tuesday evening.
Bethany Garcia tallied two goals for the Cougars who improve to 9-1 overall.
Jordan Vandermark recorded a shot for the Cyclones who fall to 2-6 overall.
Way found the back of the net twice during an eight goal first half that saw scores by
Jenna Patrone,
Lia DiPiazza,
Erin Donnelly,
Rachel Mills,
McKenna Ferraro and Garcia. Kean also held Centenary shot less and corner less for the entire first half.
The Cyclones finally tallied their lone shot in the 40
th minute. The Cougars finished with an astounding 47 shots, including 33 on target, and 29 corners.
Patrone finished with two goals and two assists, while
Ja'Carra Jackson collected a goal and an assist.
