UNION, N.J. (9/26/19) – Sedona Gaard totaled 13 kills and a .480 hitting percentage as the Kean University women's volleyball team remained unbeaten in the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a 3-0 straight sets sweep of New Jersey City University on Thursday evening.
Morgan Hall finished with eight kills for the Cougars who improve to 12-6 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC.
Xarial Chandler tallied nine kills and 11 digs for the Gothic Knights who fall to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.
Gaard posted 10 kills over the first two sets as Kean rolled to easy 25-14 and 25-4 set victories. The Cougars hit .398 for the match, including a .647 hitting percentage with no errors in the second set. The final set saw NJCU put up a solid fight as the Gothic Knights gained the early lead and held the advantage until set point. The Cougars closed the match with a 6-1 run, including three kills from Hall and single kills from
Sian Seeger and
Cailyn Ross.
Ross,
Jesse Larkin and
Zoe Strozewski all tallied five kills apiece.
Brianna Calvano and
Britni Jaskot combined for 25 assists.
Amanda DeLio collected eight digs, while Seeger, Jaskot and
Kortnee Nelson all tallied six apiece.
