HILLSIDE, N.J. (9/28/19) – Felipe Lucas scored and assisted on a goal as the Kean University men's soccer team played to a double-overtime tie with Rutgers-Camden, 2-2 at Kean's East Campus Field on Saturday afternoon.

Joni Gjyleri notched both goals for the Scarlet Raptors whose record now stands at 8-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Max Acosta scored for the Cougars whose record now stands at 5-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the NJAC.  

After surrendering an early goal in the fourth minute, Acosta scored just before halftime with a Lucas fed ball that hit off the crossbar and landed in for the 1-1 lead at intermission.

Camden regained the lead in the 78^th minute with a header off a corner kick. The Cougars answered less than a minute later, as Lucas made a couple of moves and ripped a shot from just outside the 18-yard box to even everything at 2-2 in the 79^th minute.

The Scarlet Raptors and Cougars had their chances for the game-winner, but couldn't convert on any opportunities. Kean actually scored late in the second overtime, but a questionable offsides call was made by the assistant referee to wipe out the Cougars goal.

Despite the loss, Kean led on shots (21-7) and corner kicks (7-3). Lucas recorded a game-high eight shots, while Matthew Almeida took three and Alex Nicol, Calvin Carbajal, and Acosta all tallied two shots apiece.

Dillon Konzelmann made two saves in 110 minutes in goal.

Head Coach Peter-John Falloon and the Cougars will return to action in Jersey City, N.J. on Wednesday, Oct. 2^nd, against the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University at 3:30 p.m
