Camden, N.J. (9/28/19) – Rutgers-Camden used two first half goals to stand up as they edged the Kean University women's soccer team by the final of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in NJAC play.
The Cougars (3-6, 0-2 NJAC) were the first to strike as Deana Abdou served a long volley off a restart towards the left post where graduate student Carley Garlasco finished it to put Kean up 1-0 just four minutes into the action.
Just three minutes later, the Scarlet Raptors (2-6, 1-1 NJAC) tied things up on a 25 yard strike. Meghan Wachira scored what would be the game-winner in the 20th minute.
Both teams were limited on their offensive threats on the day as each team only took seven shots on the afternoon.
Kean hosts New Jersey City University on Wednesday evening in conference play.
