Dallas, Pa. (9/7/19) – In a weird coincidence the Kean University women's soccer team fell to SUNY Geneseo in the Cougar Classic by the final of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
It is the third straight loss for the Cougars this week, all with the same 4-1 decision.
SUNY Geneseo (3-1) wasted little time getting on the board, scoring just one minute and 38 seconds into the action. Kean tied things up in the 26th minute as Mariaelena Torres notched her second goal in as many days.
The score would remain that way through the break before the Knights pulled away in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals for the win.
SUNY Geneseo recorded 27 shots on the day with keeper Mary Bystrycki stopping eight of the 12 on goal.
Kean returns home to face SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday evening.
