Mahwah, N.J. (2/5/20) – Cindy Foresta registered a double-double to help the Kean University women's basketball team to a 63-55 win over host Ramapo College on Wednesday evening.
The contest boiled down to the fourth quarter as neither team was able to push out to a double-digit lead in the back-and-forth affair. Trailing 48-47 with just over five minutes to go in the game, the Cougars (14-7, 10-4 NJAC) used an 8-0 spurt to take the lead for good. Emily Dominguez provided back-to-back layups to end the run.
The Roadrunners (9-12, 3-11 NJAC) got within two (55-53) but that would be as close as they would get as Sarah Olivero and Foresta connected on consecutive buckets to give Kean breathing room down the stretch.
Shannon McCoy finished with 12 points and eight rebounds while Payce Lange contributed with 10 points, six rebounds and four steals.
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday when they host William Paterson University at 7 p.m.
