UNION, N.J. (3/2/20) – Brady Moore dazzled in his Cougar debut with six points on four goals and two assists as the Kean University men's lacrosse team coasted to a 16-2 victory over St. Joseph's College of Long Island on Monday evening.
Cole Blackley,
Kyle Ryder and
Tommy Pellegrino all tallied three points apiece for the Cougars who improve to 1-0 overall.
Andrew Burst made 11 saves for the Golden Eagles who fall to 0-2 overall.
Moore tallied a goal and an assist in the opening quarter as Kean recorded four unanswered goals for a 4-0 lead after the first stanza.
Moore added two more as the Cougars poured in another nine goals to lead 13-1 at intermission.
Justin Arredondo, Pellegrino,
George Capria, Blackley,
Travis Hinds, and
Anthony Porter all notched a goal during the second quarter.
Kean slowly brought in the reserves during the second half as the Cougars took their foot off the gas with just three goals. Moore and Blackley both added another goal, while
Cole Hinds scored the lone goal for the Cougars in the fourth.
Blackley and
Jake Frankovits each tallied two goals apiece, while
Jack Bushey recorded a goal and an assist.
On defense,
Matt Palmieri finished with six groundballs and a caused turnover while
Joseph McNulty totaled five groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Matt Tanis finished with three caused turnovers and a groundball.
Nicholas Moffa went 7-for-9 on faceoffs with four groundballs, while
Max Stevens finished 9-for-11 on faceoffs with two groundballs. In goal,
Thomas Francy and
Michael Yukas both notched two saves apiece.
